How Can I Improve my Computer’s Performance?

I am looking to improve my Hp Desktop’s performance to get better use out of it.
I added a better video card to it a few months back, but still think i could get more out of it.
I am wondering if more ram would help, or a better processor, but don’t have enough computer know-how to know what exactly to do.
