Who should be included in the 23-man England squad for Euro 2012?

asked:

As of today 16th November 2011 England have played all the games before euro 2012 in the summer, so who would be your 23-man squad. mines read.

1. Joe Hart (gk)
2. Scott Carson (gk)
3. David Stockdale (gk)
4. Kyle Walker (RB)
5. Micah Richards (RB)
(Glen Johnson as a RB cannot defend so I wouldn’t pick him)
6. Leighton Baines (LB)
7. Ashley (LB)
8. John Terry (CB)
9. Gary Cahill (CB)
10. Joleon Lescott
11. Michael Dawson
(I chose dawsson over jagielka because he’s a better defender and jagielka always seem suspect like he has one or two errors waiting two happen. I left out Rio Ferdinand and Ledeley King over injury serious concerns-too risky)
12.Theo Walcott (winger)
13. Michael Johnson (Winger)
14. James Milner (Winger)
15. Stewart Downing (Winger)
16. Ashley Young (Winger)
(Good riddance to previous wingers such as Joe Cole, Aaron Lennon, Shaun Wright-Phillips–no quality)
17. Frank Lampard (CM)
18. Scott Parker (DM)
19. Phil Jones (DM)
20. Steven Gerard (CM/AM)
(It may surprise that I have left out Gareth Barry but there is just no space in the 23-man squad for him above scott parker [who is a better ball winner and tackler, also more mobile better long range passer] Phil Jones is an all action player who can burst forward create/spark attacks and he has good defensive and positioning sense about him. Steven Gerrard gets in because he is simply englands best quality midfielder and he is slowly getting back to form). No place for Jack Wilshere because of injury worries.
21. Danny Welbeck / Jermain Defoe
22. Darrent Bent (ST)
23. Wayne Rooney/Bobby Zamora (ST)
(I have only chosen three strikers because capello has gone away from the two striker format which is a positive. It is a toss up between Defoe and Welbeck [ we may need to monitor performances over the season] Wayne Rooney ban is still under question, if his ban is upheld I wouldn’t take him [three games is much too long and risk especially if we a drawn in a tough group such as spain, france, czech republic etc. if he is banned ten Bent leads the line)

The weakest area for england is upfront with no rooney can bent lead the line on his own and score the goals, even if rooney does play he rarely performs in the big tournaments for england.

The strongest area is on the wing- the industry and work ethic of milner, the pace of walcott, the trickery and skill of johnson and young and the vision experience and versatility of downining.

So that was my pick what’s yours?
